Our goal at AMP is to help you become the best writer possible. The level of writing expertise you reach is going to be up to you. We will take you from the beginning of building a song through all aspects of writing to get you to where your passion leads you.

There will be examples of songs broken down line by line explaining the process with classroom type instruction streamed over the web. You will have an opportunity to submit your songs to be critiqued by professionals. We hope your goal will be to get your song into Nashville In A Box where your song or songs will be reviewed by publishers, artists, A&R staff and producers, etc.

When you submit your songs to Nashville In A Box they will be reviewed by a panel of experts in the same way songs are reviewed for major recording artists. This is your chance at an opportunity to have your songs published and recorded by major and independent recording artists without ever leaving the comfort of your home.

We want to thank you for joining the AMP family and wish you the best in your journey as a professional writer in the music industry.

AMP ACADEMY

AMP Academy is organized around the workflow of your career in music. Workflow and Career are two of our most important concepts.

A career is the time devoted to the pursuit of excellence in some aspect of the music industry for a significant period of time.

A workflow is the organized pursuit of goals; it's how things get done.

There are many aspects to a successful career. You probably find yourself having a knack, or talent in one or more areas.  Proficiency takes time. Time is linear. You can only digest time in the present moment.  Thus, concentrate on the task at hand and do it to the best of your ability.

AMP Academy will help you understand what it takes to reach goals. Through local and regional seminars, interaction with industry professionals and online skill development (where you can proceed at your own pace) AMP will provide the guidance and training you need to facilitate a workflow.  Membership in AMP also provides social and networking opportunities necessary for connecting with other like minded professionals. This is where you begin to build partnerships and put the pieces together to reach personal and common goals.

AMP Academy is organized into 5 areas of instruction:
Songwriting and Composition
Develop skills in the areas of music construction and lyric writing; In addition to collaborating with other writers.

Audio Engineering
Learn how to make your music sound its best in the studio or on stage. Topics include: Basic Audio Theory; Signal Flow; Microphones and Technique; Processing and Equalization; Concepts of a Digital Audio Workstation; and Concepts of Mixing for Live Environment.

Musicianship
Learn basic skills necessary in creating music whether you are a writer or performer. Topics include: Instrument Instruction; Music Theory (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced); Vocal Performance; Stage Presence; and Interacting in a Musical Ensemble.

Publishing and Copyright
This is one of two areas related to the Business of Music.  Topics include: Role of Publishers; Publishing; Rights Management; Basic Copyright Law and Management.  Amp also offers members a unique opportunity to collaborate with our professionals to act on your behalf in these areas.

Management and Promotion
Career management requires a good overall view of various pieces and how they fit together. Managing is much like doing chain maintenance. A chain is only as good as its weakest link. Recognize what you do well and also where you need help from others who might provide a missing piece to shore up a weak link.  Once you are ready to share with your community or the world at large, you need an organized approach to presenting your product. Topics include: Budget and Accounting; Promotion; Managing Projects and Appearances; Artist and Band Management; Tour Management; Role of an Agent; Publicists and Publicity.

Get your music mobile website

MOBILE WEBSITES

AMP is excited to be at the forefront of technology.  We now offer mobile websites designed to fit any budget and specifically for the music industry!  We also offer packages for businesses outside the music industry.

Web 3.0 isn't coming, it's already here!  In today’s world, it's all about mobile interaction.
If your business doesn't have a mobile website that is specifically designed for each mobile platform, you're behind the times.

According to a 2011 report by ComScore half of the total population of the U.S. uses mobile media.  This shows an incredible 20% increase in one year.  World-wide, there are 1.2 billion mobile web users.  In the U.S., 25% of users access the Web exclusively through mobile devices.  That number is significantly higher in many other parts of the world, such as 70% in Egypt and 59% in India.  With stats and trends as they are, it will soon become impossible for a global company to thrive without a great mobile website.

Today's Web 3.0 is fast, easy, clean and interactive. Viewing videos, hearing music, buying products, signing up for email lists and checking tour dates on a mobile device is simple and not nearly expensive as you may think.
