AMP ACADEMY

AMP Academy is organized around the workflow of your career in music. Workflow and Career are two of our most important concepts.

A career is the time devoted to the pursuit of excellence in some aspect of the music industry for a significant period of time.

A workflow is the organized pursuit of goals; it's how things get done.

There are many aspects to a successful career. You probably find yourself having a knack, or talent in one or more areas.  Proficiency takes time. Time is linear. You can only digest time in the present moment.  Thus, concentrate on the task at hand and do it to the best of your ability.

AMP Academy will help you understand what it takes to reach goals. Through local and regional seminars, interaction with industry professionals and online skill development (where you can proceed at your own pace) AMP will provide the guidance and training you need to facilitate a workflow.  Membership in AMP also provides social and networking opportunities necessary for connecting with other like minded professionals. This is where you begin to build partnerships and put the pieces together to reach personal and common goals.

AMP Academy is organized into 5 areas of instruction:

Management and Promotion
Career management requires a good overall view of various pieces and how they fit together. Managing is much like doing chain maintenance. A chain is only as good as its weakest link. Recognize what you do well and also where you need help from others who might provide a missing piece to shore up a weak link.  Once you are ready to share with your community or the world at large, you need an organized approach to presenting your product. Topics include: Budget and Accounting; Promotion; Managing Projects and Appearances; Artist and Band Management; Tour Management; Role of an Agent; Publicists and Publicity.
